Knee stacks are VERY comfortable and also adjustable. I believe there are 3 cushions inside a little pouch type setup.. I actually didn't even realize it was adjustable until I looked at it closely. You can remove some of the padding to adjust for height and weight, etc.. to fine tune your bfly. I'm a heavy guy, so I left all the pads in there to aid in cushioning when I drive to the ice. My knees are not sore after playing and I've never bounced off the ice with a knee with my smith's. The kneelock works very well to keep it contained and protected.
Thanks. If I can't figure out a way to keep my knee from slipping out on the high side I'm going to order a set of 5000's with the 2000 graphic on them. I'd prefer not to order new pads and save the money but there's only so much bruising my knee can take before it says enough.
