Do goalie skates improve your game over regular skates

I am thinking about ordering the Tour Redline 5000 goalie skates. I wanted to know if it makes a difference when playing in the net wearing goalie skates vs. regular inline Mission Rx skates?
Is it a matter of more foot protection or better slides with the cowling on the skates or easier movement since the skates don't come up as high as regular skates? Also, what hardness do I need on the wheels for a painted concrete rink?
I don't know the hardness of the Tour skates, since it isn't specified on the box or wheels.
