I purchased it through Sports Replay,a local store, they have an account with Vaughn so I ordered it through them.
As far as weight I can't tell right now, I am at school doing "work" so I will weigh when I get home.
Shoulder Protection against the 993. I would say the Vaughn is alot better. The shoulders are larger and seem thicker than the 993. The one thing I noticed is that it is much easier to move in. There is good layering and I just feel alot better with this on then my 993.
After about 10 "ice times" it is just as broken in as my 993 but is still very, very protective, not really a suprise. I have taken alot of shots to the upper sternum and stomach and haven't had any pain or red marks. Those were problems with my 993. Also I would get the occasional stinger on the bicep and on the 7500 I have had zip, zero, nadda.
