I'm 30, french, and been living in Argentina for 5 years where I got married.
When I was in France I was fond of Ice Hockey and would go to support my local team every week.
Until recently I never had the opportunity to play, and when I learned there was Ice Hockey in Buenos Aires I had to go! I began playing in October last year, and in december we had our first game against another beginner team from another ice rink, so we needed a goalkeeper. This is when I began in the net and from this time I stayed in this position
I'm currently playing with the stuff from the school (Bauer C3 pads, catch, blocker and chest) and my player's helmet (with a cage of course).
After reading a lot here on the GSBB, I ordered some Itech X-wing 7.8 pads and a Koho 570 mask as the school pads are actually too short for me and I need the mask for obvious reasons.
From April I will be playing with the beginners and sometimes with the intermediate level.
My main problem is that I don't have a goalie coach, and in these levels I'm the only goalie, so it's hard to improve. I mainly work with vids from the internet.
If you have any advice or good vids to recommend for a beginner goalie, you are welcome!
