I just got my skates back from Tour today. As I had hoped, they have new blue cowlings on them. No correspondence from Tour, just the repaired skates in a box, fine with me. Glad all that's over with. Now I've had the bright idea to put a bit of protection on those wear-prone areas on the toe of the cowling. Aside from changing the way I get back up on my feet, I've devised this little trick to see if it helps these cowlings last longer. I took some of that disposeable aluminum pan, tray, tin (whatever you want to call it) and molded it around the toe of the cowling and duck taped the crap out of it. This way I'll be able to see where it wears the most and still protect the plastic. I have the pictures to help explain what I'm talking about.

May seem a bit crazy, but whatever works. At least Tour fixed them and I learned a few things along the way. Thanks for the tips everyone!
