Besides the difference of the NHL spec, i found my epic 8000 to have a wonderful break in it. since mine is the older model it's got the cheater on it and it's larger... but i don't play in a league where they measure.
What i did though, is modded the T-trap with skate lace. I put in non-waxed white and black skate lace in there to deaden pucks. When i played monday night that glove just absolutely killed out there! every time the puck was caught i felt the puck die and the break was so tight that bounce outs were next to impossible
