I have a pair of Bauer XG-lites and there was noticeable wear after only one week (although i played 5 games that week). I am on an indoor concrete surface so it is not blade friendly. I am using stuff like toe black or shoe goo to create a small buffer and help harden the cowling. Using black allows me to see where it is wearing through and where more needs to be applied. Don't really care for looks as my pads are black and they hide the skate
