I do consider myself a bit fortunate in that Tour replaced the cowlings. Not sure if it was because it was still within the 120 day warranty or they themselves were in disbelief about the cowlings horrid conditions. I realize I cause that wearing as I don't use the toe ties and I play on concrete as well as sport mats, but you can't tell me I'm the only goalie who plays this way. If someone wanted to make some real money, design a skate made specially for roller goalies, with proper places to put straps and toe ties thru, a hard-nearly indestructable cowling and a chassis that won't dent when hit by a puck..that and a comfortable boot would get many happy, loyal customers....I'd buy two! (hint hint Tour!) Until then, I just put several layers of black duct tape over the areas that get most of the abuse, then more as it wears and so on. Since I play outdoor on concrete, I do this with all my gear. Once I see wearing on a part of something, I cover it with layers of color coordinated duct tape. That way I keep my color scheme and still have new gear under the tape. Goalie gear is expensive, I try my best to take care of it. As for Tour skates, I really am quite certain I will not by their products in the future. I'll give Bauer a shot and see how they are.
