I do have to admit I'm a heavier guy. BUT, I have owned a pair of bauer 1000 ( Goalie Roller Skates ) Which I used for over 2 years. They have No structurally damaging wear what so ever. I will be returning my skates to tour to have new cowlings put on.. I think I read somewhere in here its only 20.00 to have them replaced. I have a friend who owns a UPS store so shipping is free for me. I do remember the person's name who I dealt with from Tour his name was Brad. A nice lady answered the phone when I called when I asked for Brad's boss after leaving him numerous messages I was directed directly to Brad. Amazing he was there at that point. I got the .. ( I was just about to call you ) speech. I did though recommend a pair of Redline skates to a friend who was needing a new set this weekend. I did warn him of the shotty goal cowlings.
He has since placed an order for them. Bauer is way to limited in wheel sizing. If they incorporated a chassis that accepted larger then 47mm wheels I think they would totally corner the market on these kinds of skates.
WHY DON'T THEY HIRE MORE GOALIES LIKE ME TO DESIGN EQUIPMENT ?!?! We are the smartest people in the world, who like to have little round disc like objects shot at them.
Ps. Screw people like Sean Avery who make it their job to annoy goalies. People like him are why I break sticks.
