I got into Hip Hop back in '83 through b-boying. BDP was and still is a favorite of mine..."The Bridge is over", a true classic that helped put them out there. I'm a BIG KRS-ONE fan and had the chance to see him perform in Ottawa some years ago.
Gangstarr is another favorite holding down in TRUE Hip Hop style. Guru drops some good science for the mind and DJ Premier is a pioneer and well respected producer as well. I liked how Guru branched out into Jazz to create another attaché to Hip Hop music. He said owing that move to his father who was a jazz performer from back in the day.
