Frankly I've thrown my arm out like Ozzie to try and disrupt a fore checking froward a million times, with no intention of but ending anyone, so I believed Ozzie in the press conference when he said it was unintentional. A hockey play if you will.

Ribero's swing was entirely intentional and as we all know from Pronger it's all about intent.

While I would like to see the league do something about players that use their sticks as a weapon, neither player is dead so when the NHL as per usual does nothing, I'll be fine with it.
And it's funny to hear the Dallas fans (Or Red Wings haters) on here complain about that when Turco does that all the time. Turco hit a guy in the face at the end of the regular season doing a similar reach. BTW, I like both Turco and Osgood so I have no bias here. Also, anytime a player takes his stick with hands together and swings it as Ribero did, it is not acceptable. Osgood was guilty of what he did and Ribero was guilty of what he did. But, Ribero was not acting during a play but consciously after the whistle. Osgood could say his act was unintentional while Ribero could not say that.
