I admire his courage and his service to our country but being a prisoner of war has absolutely nothing to do with running a country, especially one as large as the US. Take off the Republican glasses and realize no one is underestimating the guy if anything they are overestimating him. He is a disappoint to almost every Republican I know. Sure there will be those on the right that will vote for him since they have no other choice but debate with either Hilary or Obama will be a total blowout. Plus he is like 74 years old. Would you let him borrow your car? NO but you would vote for him to lead our country.

Dave...I am far from a republican. I am also far from a democrat. I am what we used call in college when it came to frat pledging, a MFing Independent.
The fact that he is considered a disappointment to much of the far right, is a good thing! It should be embraced because they are the lunatic fringe of the right. But whether or not he has been a lead horse in any particular sweeping legislation is immaterial. However, like the laws or not, he did get the McCain-Feingold pushed through, which whether you like it or not was an attempt at cleaning up politics despite the many loopholes that it has that have caused major issues and bit him in the arse.
But the fact remains is this....the guy has 26 years of government service in Congress. Probably 2x that of Hillary and Obama combined. Also...didn't he co-author an anti-torture bill in Congress that was either vetoed or died???? And wasn't that co-authored, much like McCain-Feingold, with a Democrat?
He's simply a moderate who wont think of things in black and white, left or right, red or blue. And that is good! But he's smart enough to know when to work with the other party and when to tell his own party, as well as the opposition to shut the F up.
Sure he's old...who cares? FDR had polio! I forget...how many terms did he serve? Reagan was developing Alzheimer's during his 2nd campaign....that didn't stop him from being effective.
Don't be myopic. Don't be partisan. Realize that Hillary and Barack are simply not qualified to run a McDonalds, yet McCain is a grad of Anapolis and was a Captain in the USN, a man who has led men as an officer.
Sorry. I'll vote for him.
PS: Here's a great quote from McCain when he was running for Congress the first time and was called a carpetbagger:

Listen, pal. I spent 22 years in the Navy. My father was in the Navy. My grandfather was in the Navy. We in the military service tend to move a lot. We have to live in all parts of the country, all parts of the world. I wish I could have had the luxury, like you, of growing up and living and spending my entire life in a nice place like the First District of Arizona, but I was doing other things. As a matter of fact, when I think about it now, the place I lived longest in my life was Hanoi.[59][73]

Priceless...and yes that is the type of attitude I want from my next POTUS. To tell people when they are being petty and stupid that they are an idiot.
