For some reason the right has misled so many people saying that Democrats or "lefty loonies" are the tax and spend party. Now if you really want to have a debate in regards to this it does not take much to realize how untrue this is. First George the 1st stated that the way to improve the economy back then was to lower and not raise taxes. But he raised taxes. Clinton said he was going to raise taxes and become more fiscally responsible and we wound up with a surplus. George the 2nd stated he would lower taxes and that would make the economy boom, which it did but only for the top 2% of the US taxpayers. I know very few people that have a better standard of living today than they did during Clinton's time in office. Plus remember he had to clean up the first Bush's mess.
