The buckle strap is sewn directly to the seam of the pad. It seems that someone should just carry the prong piece that can simply be attached to the buckle? Any thoughts?
Side release buckles are always sold in the pair, the female and male part. Replacing a buckle on a pad is not difficult. I can do it to a set of pads in about 5 minutes.

If you have a shoe repair shop do it it will not be expensive. You can also do it yourself. There are several threads showing you how to use a sewing awl and replacing pad straps. Basically the same procedure.

I know you are complaining, but you are not going to get any sympathy from me lol
