If you play against people who can really shoot, and have quick releases, not wearing a dangler is very, very risky. I used to take mine off for some ice times, then put it back on for tournaments and skates with the NHL alumni, but that got old quick, so it now stays on all the time. It does make finding loose pucks a little harder, but that isn't an issue if you control the rebound, right???? (I couldn't even type that with a straight face)

I've had a few of the guys break a dangler on me. One probably would have hit the bottom of the metal on my Mage, but the other one would have likely left me with a really, really husky voice. Thankfully, the guys who shoot like that usually miss me and hit the glass or the net. Being old and slow has it's advantages......
