If it was a weak wrister, you should've been able to catch before it hit your mask. When it's a hard shot though, like on a one timer, you gotta try to stay focused and unphased, that's if you're not rattled or knocked unconscious lol. Try to stay alert and follow the play and you may very well be able to cover the puck or make the rebound save if there's one to be made. In any event, you should try to catch any shot going to your head provided you can get your glove up on time... Sometimes your face just happens to be at the "right" place at the right time, that is between the shooter and a goal
