A Whole Lotta Skate Questions...

Okay so I have had my Bauer 7000's for about 4 years or so. I have been playing with them okay for the whole time, they feel pretty good. This week I went down to hockeymonkey to buy my glove and blocker and my girl went with me to get some vapor xxxx's for herself. She tried on 5 different skates and was very picky to get the right size for her because the skates she had were too big. She finally got the right pair and was very happy. That got me thinking...were my skates too big?

When i bought them I was a noob and told the guy I didn't have a clue what was right for me and he eventually sold me 7.5 EEE skates. I wear a size 10 shoe but i didn't think my foot was a freaking EEE width! I wear a regular cotton sock when i play as well. My questions are as follows:

1) did this bastard con me into buying EEE skates because he knew no one in hell has a 7.5 EEE skate and he had to sell them?
2) If i have been skating with the wrong skate the whole time, then what feels right? How tight should they be? Do my toes have to touch the toecap? Should it pinch the sides of my foot? Should the ankle be really really snug?
3) Should I play barefoot or use a thin sock? Am I wrong for using a thick sock?
4) What skate should I buy next coming from my bauer 7000's? I looked at the Graf g50's and the nike bauer supreme one95's but really whatever skate fits I'll be happy with.

Thanks in advance for my plethora of quesitions I will have more
