I'm curious as to how this works, as they will just bring you another car and expect the contract to still be honored. (With a discount for the inconvenience.)
This was rampant at U-Haul years back, and many rental companies put policy into effect to avoid it. Better be be a good BS'er, and somewhat handy mechanic, if you take this route!
