If you *want* to pull a fast one, you buy a cheap helmet (or get one that's relatively the same age as your mask). Get a heat gun and soften up the adhesive on the helmet's sticker. Peel, transfer to mask, presto. Each sticker has a number on it, but the vast majority of refs will have no idea what number relates to which mask or helmet. Besides, they don't have the time to check the numbers on each player's helmet, look it up in a book, and check if the number matches the make/model. All they look for is that orange and green sticker.
Of course, you could probably get into trouble for doing this, and the guy at the camp would probably still recognize your mask and know you pulled something.
I did this with my mask. But it *is* a CSA-certified mask... I ordered two cages with the mask, one cateye (for rec use) and one approved (for league use). Long story short, they shipped it with the cateye on and told me that since the cateye isn't CSA-approved, they didn't put the CSA sticker on the mask.
