Based on those numbers Ontario also acounts for just shy of 39% of the nation's entire population. With the numbers stated, there is no possible way you could believe that Ontario and more specifically, the GTA don't fund the lion's share of the CBC as well as piles of other federal services.
Hate the Leafs and Toronto all you want, but its not a fluke that the leafs are on the CBC more than anyone else. More of the population want to see it that way and have paid to see it that way. The numbers don't lie.

How many tax payers are hockey fans? And how many are fans of one of the three Canadian teams in the east, over another? Like I say, I know how to pull census information from Statistics Canada. So you're not giving me information I can't find on my own. But they don't say how many tax payers want to see Toronto vs. how many want to see Ottawa or Montreal. Or how many tax payers outside of Ontario don't want to watch the Leafs. Maybe the entire 61% outside of Ontario wants to watch another team play once in a while. Try to prove that more of the population wants to see the Leafs, rather than quote census figures like you're accomplishing something.
