HTML Sigs

I think it would be a cool idea for HTML to be enabled for sigs so you could post pictures. This is a feature on every other board I'm on, and the only thing you really need is a size limit. Remember, you can always block out sigs in your preferences if you don't want to see them.

It could kind of be another thing to have besides an avatar. I'm always makign new banners and such for sigs, so I think it would be cool.

Anybody else think this is a good idea?

Call me old but I think the idea sucks. Every board I've seen which allows pictures in the sigs always ends up with a 3 word post followed by a ¼ page stale photo.

That's why you have a size limit. Here's some examples of mine:









You could have a size limit of, say, 50x400 pixels. That's about standard size.

The Jeep BB I post at (www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums) has HTML allowed in the sig, BUT the sig's only show up in the first post a person makes in a thread. The sig's do not show up after the first post. That's another way to make it less annoying.

I think Squealagig is right. With the new wave of posters and Frosty, posting three words a signature is very subjective.

I believe the whole signature thing is very subjectable. I don't believe there are any rules to the size of them and what-not. The profile says that a signature has a limit and that there is no code involved.

A place that i wish these signatures were like is gamewinner.com's forum sections.

i think it's a good idea, but not 5x400, that's not tall enough. i'm thinking, maybe 125x200, but what do i know?

I don't want to turn my sig feature off, as I think there are a few guys with some cool sigs....

Other boards I belong too have guys with huge sig's and it is really annoying. Further to that, our board has guys whose sig's are just down right stupid.

I believe glovesave90 has a sig with his list of current equipment. This means he could post two words in a thread and take up so much space just for his sig....it's disgusting.
