Selling on Equipment Classified

Hi,

I noticed a recent member selling stuff in the Equipment Classified. It turns out that he/she is very active on ebay.

My point. Should the Classified section be used only by people that are at least active in other areas of the BBS?

I know some people who offer deals to the BBS members. I would hate to see that same equipment end up sold for a profit on Ebay.

How could you control where people post? I mean what you are saying is that Brett should restrict who can post in the Classified? I don't think there is a possible way to do it...

I know it sucks for the people to see they're old pads being sold by someone else on EBay.

It is impossible to control this type of transaction as it has nothing to do with the person posting equipment for sale, but the purchaser. The purchaser is the one that could re-sell at a profit, yet this person does not even need to post - they just need to send a PM or email to the seller.

Otherwise, as a BB seller - if you are selling equipment at a good deal to help out a BB member (knowing you could get more elsewhere), you are always taking a risk of the person reselling the equipment afterwards. If you want to minimize the risk of feeling taken advantage of then it is your job as the seller to research the buyer ahead of time before deciding to sell.
