Why re-invent the wheel?
If I wanted to ebay...I'd go there. I used the classifieds here as a more personal free market. The unstructured nature was different (and the appeal) and unique.

People are paying for the ads now, so keeping them clutter free of "wow, those are neat pads" and "I have that same mask! I love it!" is appreciated.
|
Sometimes the clutter kept the gear whores from finding the gems. I liked to shop the "old" posts on page 2 that were either missed or hidden behind the bumps.
Just sayin Bryan makes great points.

sometimes becoming too commercial isn't a good thing. I know for one, and not just the classifieds, I am here a lot less than I used to be, because now instead of a personal feeling little slice of internet comfort, when I log in here its like logging in to an online Walmart.
Its a thankless job to be a mod/leader ect but when the personal feel starts going, so do all the people

I have a question. I made out my ad for my Vaughn set in the classifieds and paid the fee yesterday. The ad has not posted yet. Does it take a little while to get approved? I read the info you are supposed to read before you do an ad and most of the mods mentioned that they check it pretty regularly.
Thanks

So your biggest concern is someone else will see something they want and buy it before you have a chance to "browse"?
You need to learn how to shop.

Going on three days waiting now. It's not that I mind paying the new fee, but cripes, at least my couple of bucks on Ebay gets things posted right away...I'm a little disappointed in the service with the new classifieds.

Hi RCS,
THe problem is that at the end of the paypal process there's a link that says 'return to goaliestore.com' and it needs to be clicked so that the site's software knows you've paid.
It's not obvious, and people sometimes miss it or go on to another site after they're finished posting their ad.
Anyway, I'll manually approved your ad.

Thanks Sean, it's appreciated. Is there any way to include that in the instructions somewhere? I definitely don't recall seeing anything.
