The Eyesore That Is The Classified Area

I realize there's an effort being made to make things more organized and appreciate the ammount of time and work that goes into it so please try not to take this personally...

Are 17 sub-categories really necessary? And then sub-sub-categories within them? Does 3 sets of knee pads over the past 8 months justify their own section? How bout the last set of Jr leg pads being posted back in June? Ebay has only 4 sub-categories within it's Goalie Equipment area: Face Masks, Gloves & Blockers, Leg Pads and Other. We can already search within each category so why all the hub-bub? It's just cumbersome to navigate not to mention the adage/acronym K.I.S.S.

It's not THAT bad. A few sub-cats can probably be appended together though. Such as "accessories".

Ahh, when over organization becomes messy. A common occurance in closests and desk drawers, now popular on online sites as well.

It's a nightmare. I used to read the "old" classifieds almost every day, bought many things from other BB members. With the new one, I avoid it at all costs, it's just too much of a mess wade through.

I completely disagree. One can find what one is looking for FAR faster now. That's the point, isn't it?

If there's an area that NEEDS sub-categries it's "Want to Buy".

I honestly think that is why there are so many categories. So you can't lump stuff together in one ad. This way they can 2 buck you to death.

Personally, I think the new layout sucks. I don't even bother going in there anymore.

Hard to navigate? Are you kidding? If you're looking for a mask, go to "MASKS". If you're looking for pads go to "PADS" or "GEAR SETS".

That's difficult?

It's a colossal pain in the behind if you are "just looking". Even if you are looking for something extremely specific, you still have to browse through everything else just in case someone has what you want piggybacked onto their ad for something else, never mind those who put stuff in the wrong category.

There is absolutely no need to break "glove sets" "catchers" and "blockers" into separate categories. Gloves are gloves. I shouldn't have to look through three categories to see what gloves are out there. I shouldn't then also have to look through "sets" to see if someone is willing to break their set up and sell the gloves sepatately.

Five categories - no subcategories - more than enough.

"Pads and Gloves"

"C/A's and Pants"

"Masks and Combos"

"Skates"

"Accessories and other gear"

END OF CATEGORIES

If you group pads and gloves you'll have a harder time finding what you need than you do now, same goes for c/a and pants. The rest is fine.

Amazing, so many people complained about the old system. The new system is put in and then everyone is mad.
When I look just click the top part that says last day, or week.
I personally liked the old better, and I didn't feel change was needed, but you can't please everyone i guess... you can still search.
It is set up for people looking for gear, not just browsing(sp?).
