Correcting an error in the middle of a sentance (cursor erase!)

This happens about 50% of the time-

I'll type a big long paragraph only to realize that I miss spelled, or worded somthing wrong in the first line. Well when I click the cursor into the sentance to incert a word the word types, but instead of moving the rest of the paragraph forward, it just goes over whatever was typed there, and erases it. So I end up retyping the whole thing over again.

What causes this, and how can I avoid this from happening in the future? ( And don't say learn to type and know what your going to say before you type it! )

You must have hit your INSERT key on your keyboard, that is the only way that happens. P.E.B.C.A.K. error.

yeah, you had the overwrite function on, just hit the insert button next time.

What the heck is an "insert" key anyway? Never heard of such a thing.

I don't recall ever using that key before, but I'll keep it in mind.

Maybe you have fat finger syndrome and occationally accidentally hit it when reaching for the delete key.
