i'd go with the clinics and slideboard... even thought the clinics don't have dry land.. dry land is the easiest part you can do on your own... either choice is a good one

The thing that I've always believed about camps is that if you learn one thing in that week of camp then your doing good.
Knowledgable coaching is important. Repetitive training is important. Once a week clinics provide the repetition and hopefully the clinic is being run by a coach who is watching and helping each goalie, even a little bit. Combine clinics with off-ice and now some real progress can be made.
So I vote for the clinics.

Must be some west coast thing where the clinics don't have dry land.

Those europeans dig the dry land stuff....crazy bastards even make you do it when you don't have the appropriate footwear.

That was called peer pressure due to a lame assed excuse of not bringing appropriate footware. Hell Botts didn't even complain and he didn't even have goalie gear when he arrived!

Puss....

Huron Hockey has a great program run out the University of Ottawa Complex. The last couple of years, the head instructor for the goaltending was Rob Dopson. And he was helped by Jessica Moffat who is one of the top young female goalies in the US college system.

If you just buy the pad covers from Goaler One, would your existing slideboard work?

Another option - see if your rink has a good goalie coach who does private lessons. It may cost you a little more, but it is 1on1 training

I was considering the FP camp myself for this year, but I haven't decided. It was between a week-off (paid vacation) to Canada, or a week-off non-paid vacation to Maui. Both would end up costing about the same (don't have to pay lodging/car/etc in Maui).

A trip to Home Depot and about $20 and you can make a nice 8x4 slideboard. There's a thread on it somewhere. They have 8x4sheets of the boards for dry-erase boards. A little oil (same with the Goaler1) and you're good to go. If you can afford it, G1 is good, but if you're on a tight budget, DiY is not bad. Just need the pad covers/booties (or make them).

This is gonna be my second year of goaltending. Hockey camp made me amazing, i made varsity my first year of goalie. (i went to Jon Elkins). This year i have made a huge program that im doing at home to improve my skills. Its gonna be tough but im trying to do it myself. I going to a couple clinics though but mostly stick and puck, (where nobody goes). and just work on my movement.

Camps are great though.
