My One Day Better Everyday Log

I've started an online blog to show what I'm doing to raise my game. I'm going to talk about everything I'm doing on and off the ice, as well as discuss fundamentals of the position and of course the odd rant about equipment. Check it out and feel free to chip in as to what you are doing to elevate your game. I'm hoping the more competitive goalies will all post what they are doing and can learn to motivate and push each other to work harder.

To quote a very famous man, "There is always someone who is working harder than you to get where you want to go"

Very good idea. Write your thoughts contemporaneously because you will lose the train of thought otherwise. It's also helpful to keep some basic stats, like shot type, location, puck motion and save attempted where you can. That usually means for the goals against.

Good tool. If you are dilligent about keeping it updated and honest in your assesments (not saying you are dishonest, it's just that people's capacity for self-delusion is tremendous ) you will be amazed how much you will learn about your game and yourself.

This coming from a guy who told me, with a straight face, that he claims he used to be a model and used to bed female models all the time.

Trunk model makes sense...seems no one is interested in anything below your waist anyway.

At least I'm consistent. I've always looked better with clothes on.

During a game my dad recrds where my rebounds go, and uses Steve's Rebound Control Average. My average day was just over two.

Valid question. In my opinion if you've given in to the fact that you will not be able to gain possession by yourself, which is goal #1 of the goalie during a shot, that you give your team a minimum of a 50-50 chance at the puck and by putting it on to the glass in the corner you guarrantee that the bad guys wont be able to easily get possession of the puck and move on to the attack in a second. It gives you, and your team time to find your man and do battle for the puck.

That is the way I look at it.

excellent job keeks, obviously you have the xact wording off the DVD written down somewhere

swiss, if you put it in the air you give your team more time to regroup, get back to where they need to be, and get to the puck as a opponent would be more liekly to get to the corner first because your D should be covering the front of the net.
