Ever feel stagnant, not improving?

Ever get into a stagnant period when you feel you have not improved your game for a while, no matter what you on/off ice?

What do you do (can you do) to move past the plateau to get better?

I just accept the fact that I have peaked.

That's pretty much how I feel right now.

Making the same mistakes over and over.

Stopping the same type of shots, and blowing other types of shots....over and over.

Might be time to buy new gear....nothing else is helping

take a break, you might come back to hockey totally psyched and inthusiastic.

or you could play more often, your problem could be from just being in the same routine.

both have helped me in the past.

i usually sit down and cry in the shower. but im lucky cause theres a rink near me that has open hockey everyday during the day. im the only person that shows up. i let in everything through my legs, so i just do drills all day keeping my stick on the ice. like butterfly slide across the blue line and back etc. i think the best thing you can do is focus on a specific problem at a time. keep situations in your head, think about them, think about what to do next time. i suck so you might be better off not listening to me, but goodluck.

If you are serious about getting better than you should get a session/s with a goalie coach.

for me i just watch alot of hockey when this happens. study if you will and try new things at my next pickup skate or game warm ups and try and introduce them to my regular bag of tricks. also the new equipment thing does work nicely!
