I get this exact same problem! I try to skate around when the puck is in the other end. Also, I will rock back and forth/lift my feet off the rink when the play is in the other end too. If I stay still for too long, that's when it seems to happen. Of course, that means that my team is doing a great job, so I don't complain

Are you sure your skates fit you right ? Not trying to be a smart-ass or anything but my first guess would be the overall fit, is the width OK for you ? If they are fitted correctly my next guess would be the lacing, I messed around with how I laced mine up to find the optimum method for myself, I would say I have an average size foot ( 10 width D?) and found that by breaking the complete run of laces down to thirds and then lacing the first third of the laces sorta loose/sorta tight, the second third of the laces I really tightened up on and the last third was kinda loose/kinda tight again. This seems to work OK for me, my toes stay comortable, I feel solid across the mid area where I feel most of the pivot/stop/start motion in my feet, and my ankles are comfortable enough to flex/move a little bit but still have that secure feeling. Might be worth trying.

Yeah, but remember the above advice came from someone who just popped his ACL while skating.

No seriously, I do almost exactly what Robb just said and the repercussions of not doing so result in exactly in what JJ described. So you gotta assume, provided you have the right skate size, that you're lacing your toes too tight.

Hmm, skates, lacing, maybe your socks are too thick? Seriously, my skates only fit comfortably if I use the thinnest socks available.

My feet always hurt like hell for the first 15 minutes or so, then I don't notice. I'm guessing it's a width problem.

I'm using Bauer Pro Comps. Are the CCMs generally a bit wider? I'm considering their roller goalie skates...
