An Open Apology

My sincere apologies to regular contributors for the past week. Because of a few problems that had been cropping up (i.e. blank posts, double posts, etc.), I took it upon myself to upgrade the bulletin board software to the latest version offered by Ultimate BB. Visions of a quick and easy upgrade danced though my head and, of course, what happened was exactly the opposite.

For reasons unknown, the latest version of UBB wouldn't work at all. I had The Goalie Store's host and the UBB software people on the phone at least once a day for 6 days straight. Finally, I asked my ISP to reload a copy of all the old files from a tape backup. The past 3 days have been spent waiting for them to do this.

I retrospect I made a stupid mistake. I should have loaded the upgrade to a test directory and tried to get it going before hand. I am sorry for the disturbance, and appreciate the support that I received from many regular contributors.

Mean spirited and invective comments should be sent my way. This was my mistake alone, and no fault of The Goalie Store.

Hey Brett no apology required...we do beta testing in production all the time ! Sometimes with the same results !
Kudos to you for doing a great job keeping the site up and working, checking the bb in the AM is usually the best part of my morning.
No disparaging remarks here !
