The morning shake has "the works" . I call it the MOAS (Mother Of All Shakes). You can call it DA BOMB. The other shakes are almost always just the whey blend with wheat bran (or oatmeal) and either a carrot or fruit thrown in.
I don't know if your shake is grainy, but for a while I was putting oats in my shake and it would be like drinking sand. Then I started to put them through the coffee grinder first so they would be a nice fine powder and mix up completely. Just a little something to consider

Sounds like a good idea, but I suppose it depends on the blender. I use one that you just put into the shake cup. You can stir it around while it grinds and everything is nice and smooth.

Oh yeah, I have one of those too, but typically use a blender like this

BTW folks, one of the main reasons for adding the bran to your shakes is to keep yourself regular. All that protein will plug you up if you dont. And you dont want to walk around with a bloated belly now do you?

Hey Mont, a lot of magazines like Men's Health advocate eating peanut butter and nuts like almonds. What are your thoughts on these?

Keep in mind that one can only suggest guidelines for people as different people can react differently plus different "experts" can be decidedly in disagreement as to what is right and wrong.

My opinion:

Peanut butter is certainly a healthy vitamin packed food and a great way to add calories of a good nature. Its also an excellent source of protein. It can be added to your "shakes" for a great new taste and calorie power punch.

Absolutely, peanut butter and nuts are good for you. But like anything else you need to be "smart" about things. If you eat a lot of nuts, you are going to pack up your intestines, so it is even more important that you keep BRAN flowing in your daily diet. And although the fats in the nuts are good - they will be killers like anything else if you dont keep your training in check.

About Mens Health etc. those pictures of the male models with statuesque figures are very motivational when next to an article about ie. peanuts. But dont forget, the package you are looking at is the result of a COMPLETE package - an all around smart diet combined with meaningful workouts.

Yep, peanut butter is "approved" BUT NOT ON WHITE BREAD AND JELLY IN THE MIX!

As promised, here is a pic as of today at 84 kg (185lbs).
If I didnt eat the way I do, I wouldnt look the way I do.

(small inset taken yesterday for comparison - not getting fatter, just getting tighter and bigger so something must be working)

Stacey deals with chemicals all day. Mont goes the gym!

Must be nice!

And Mont, please call me Hooker or Big Daddy.

Looking good cat. I hope to be looking as good as you at 65..I mean 45.
Now that I have I.B.S., I need someone to help me figure out a proper diet, because I'm having a hell of a time with it.
I have to figure this out before I even begin to look at the weights again.

I really wish beer could somehow work into the equation. I mean doesn't beer = hockey?

A quick lunch item that isn't bad is canned chicken if you add mustard or something to that effect to it. There are a lot of different types in the store now but you really have to check the label.

Probably one of the few pieces of good advice they give. Monounsaturated fats are some of the most beneficial you can eat.
