No critique here, just wanted to say that was a hell of a lucky stick save you had on video 3!! You gotta love those!!

And, your video is the absolute best quality I have seen posted here.

I would suggest getting a bigger S curve on those babies, to help you close up your 5-hole a bit better.

Hey Guys

I thought that stick save was textbook!

I didn't play the situation very well, but threw out the Hail Mary.

A buddy of mine took it with his regular digital camera. I will ask him what settings/type of camera it is.

Thanks,

Rene

Yeah its pretty sweet quality. I get my games taped with a dvd video camera but once I get it onto my computer, convert it, and hack it up the quality is no where near I would like it to be.

Should catch or trap that shot in Movie Two. It's within the L zone defined by Keekes, within which you should snag all pucks.

Of course, I wouldn't be able to do much better than you at all, if I'm lucky enough to even stop it as you did.

You have good quickness and that's so important.
On the third clip you committed a little too early to the split butterfly which got you in trouble. Forwards are adapting to that move by moving to a wrap attempt, especially if they get time to see you get into it. The other thing about using the split is that you really should be on the post short side or otherwise a forward can throw the puck between you and the post. Lastly, if you use the split when you are against the post it's a very short distance to push over to to the opposite post should the forward decide to move to the wrap attempt as he did in the video.

Hey Profly

I agree with you 100% on committing too early. That shooter in particular is one of the best scorers in the senior league. Very hard snap shot. I got a little over anxious on it.

I am not real clear on the best way to handle these situations. I think my preference would be to stand up, back all the way to the post so I can use 1 pad down technique to cover a pass out or push across to wrap around.

Stuff I need to work on to achieve this is betting skating, and more flexibility. I find when I drop the pad down, it wants to force my skate open. Makes for very weak pushes. Damn AGE! (37) and inflexible hips.

On the second video, I noticed you probably should have had that rebound, plus you kicked it back out in the slot area. But it looks like you D is pretty solid, either that or the other team is afraid to skate the front of the net.
