Is there more to the Stretch-a-Flex than a belt with loops at the ends?

I got mine in late July and it has no signs of wear using it 3-4 times a week.
It's like having a trainer help you stretch except you use your body's own leaverage to stretch yourself. It comes with a one hour instructional DVD and booklet that step you through different static and dynamic stretching routines in progression to maximize your range of motion. The guy is really knowledgeable and the DVD is what really makes it work. You can get a preview of some of the stretches on the website or email the guy (Shaun) with "goalie stretches" in the subject for a specific pre-game routine.

blacksv1, thanks for posting this. I ordered one after reading this thread yesterday. Shaun even sent me the goalie routine already. I can't wait for this thing to show up at my door. Thanks again.

Despite coming from New Zealand, mine was delivered to Michigan in just a few days. I look forward to reading your experiences after you try it. Thanks.

I ordered the stretch a flex; the idea looks solid. I will post my thoughts after I receive it and use it for a while.
How was it for increasing flexibility?

I didn't realize how inflexible in areas like my calves and hamstrings were and really didn't spend much time stretching them until I started using it . For example, before I got it, with locked knees I could barely reach down to my shins but now I can easily reach the floor. For me, I had to get past the tightness of my healing groin tear, but once there flexibility gained tremendously in that area too. The DVD explains the theory for proper stretching and walks you through the correct sequence of stretches to acheive the most gain. I found out that I really didn't know how to stretch before.

Will this help achieve my goal of someday being able to kick myself in the face?

You can get the booklet for free on the webpage: Stretching Aid for Maximum Flexibilty

I've decide to track my flexibility progress using the stretch-a-flex, so I will start with a pic from tonight. This is my final stretch after doing the full lower body static stretching routine.

The pain on my face is from my wife nagging me, not from the stretch...
