My son got his last week and likes it a lot, it is great for doing partner type stretches as stated. I, on the other hand, found it insanely funny watching him get stuck in various positions while yelling how things were being stretched he didn't know he had! LMFAO it was great! I only had to rescue him from 1 or 2 stretches so all and all it was good.

Is your anger management course making you mad?

Seems a little harsh tone for you to take. Admittedly it was a not too subtle reference to a bad spammer we had back in the day but really, calm down.

I got one recently. I love it. However, I'm already pretty flexable and I think if you are not very flexable to start with, this product may just hurt you! But if you are flexable, and just want to get a good strecthing partner, this product is perfect.

During the Holiday break, I only played on Sundays instead of the usual 3 skates a week, so I added and extra full stretch routine in each week. I tried to do the full split sequence twice each week to see if I could gain some flexibility instead of the usual once a week. The first week I streched 3 days apart and it worked great, but this week I tried to stretch Wednesday and last night, but didn't get too far the second. So my advice for those who bought it is that you may want to allow yourself 72 hrs to recouperate between doing the full split. Just my 2 cents...or maybe i'm just too old to heal fast enough.

Stretch-a-flex

I oredered one and the first couple of times, I was losing balance and falling over myself.. In fact, I was pissed I bought this, but if you give it time, like most things in life, it will work. Mywife laughed her a$$ off the first couple of times, but man after 20 minutes I feel great..

This will stretch you out really good, but I don't think I will buy one of these either...

I just got mine the other day and used it onces. I just followed the DVD. Obviously there is nothing magical about that belt, but that belt with Shawn's knowledge is what makes it so effective.

I would definitely recommend it.

The belt is tough though. I 've been using mine 6 months 3-4 times a week and still looks new. I had a minor muscle pull in my regular Tuesday skate last week, that may have been serious if I wasn't as stretched out as I was. It was a little sore for a couple of days, but feels fine now after stretching it out with the SAF last night...

Here is a link to every stretch you will ever need to know.

Sports Medicine Health Advisor English Index: A To Z

And for the goalie with the bad hips, see the stretch routines for hip flexors and snapping hip.

What kind of warmup does the stretchaflex routine require? My biggest problem with getting a consistent stretching program going is finding a good warmup. After a hard workout or practice I can have a great stretch, but if I just do 15 minutes of aerobic stuff, I can't get a very good stretch. So that makes it difficult to incorporate a daily stretching routine, since I often don't have time right after my workouts.

I don't really do a warm up before stretching. The DVD steps you through the routines to warm up the muscles gradually. The lower body routine starts with 5 or 6 stretches just for the calves alone and prgresses slowly and deliberately through all the leg muscles before getting to the intense stretches. The belt just helps you get the leverage you need to maximize the stretches without a partner. The DVD section on stretching theory helps and actually says not to do intense isometric stretching more than 2 or 3 times a week and I have personally found that I get better results allowing 72 hrs recuperation time over 48 hrs.

Thx for posting this! Looks like a different way to accomplish the task of loosening things up. I had one of those Hurley units for years until the internal piston on it went bad. While it was great for stretching the inside leg muscles, this takes things to a whole different level.

Neat!
