knee problem question

Hey guys I saw there was a thread but really old so decided to make a new one.

In my high school game yesterday i popped my knee out for the 5th time in just over a year. This one was pretty bad. When i went down i put my hand down to grab it and felt that it was still out so i popped it back in.
I went to the hospital after the first time and the doc basically just told me to sit out 4-6 and then it would be fine. I did and sure enough happened again...and again...and again.
So before i go again i'd just like to know if anyone knows of a surgery or anything you can have for a loose kneecap? im guessing thats what is happening.
Golf is my big sport and im planning on scholarship for it and cant afford to be injured because of hockey but really dont want to give it up. And cant really afford to keep missing school because i cant walk the next day.

so if anyone can help please do!

Sounds like you need to see an orthopedic specialist. What you are describing sounds exactly like what happened to me about 4 years ago when I had a torn ACL. The knee kept going out and finally it went out and it took about 8 hours before I could get it to go back in place.

After surgery I can now play hockey again. Call and make the appt. with the orthopedic doctor.

You should be seeing an ortho doc for sure. I had a dislocating kneecap when I was younger as well. I had a lateral release and that took care of it. It doesn't work for everyone mind you, but it helped me.
