Grand Rapids "spring clinic" is still a go UPDATED WITH PHOTOS
Since the thread got deleted, I just wanted to let everyone know that the spring clinic scheduled for Grand Rapids (Michigan) on May 3rd and 4th is still a go!
If you'd like to discuss specifics, you can shoot me a PM for info on where you can go to talk with the others who will be there, or for those who are good at figuring out puzzles, just remember that you are a GOALIE and you need to get a LIFE.... "dot com".

Silly Greeks.
I'll be there. I believe the BBQ is dead...so maybe we can all find somewhere to eat Saturday night.

I don't know about the bbq - hoping to talk to the intended 'host' today - hoping there's no bad karma - otherwise, there's lots of places in the area and I can call any of them, or bring stuff in (probably better for lunch). I'll get on this issue today - try to let everyone know by Mon PM. If we're going somewher - lots of tV's is the call - SOMEONE will be playing, I'm sure.
And my race is on at 5pm - RUN - In the right order, dammit!!
P/S
BTW - I posted the last printout Sean had for time, names, etc. - ck. it out

First of all - for those who would like an emergency number in GR - please PM me and I'll be happy to pass mine out. Then, if your flight comes in and you need a lift, if you can't figure out where you are, the road is missing (happened to me in Ohio once), etc., feel free to call. I get out of work at 5PM Fri. But you can call before that if you have a problem. I'm old enough to buy alcohol and I know where to get it (next to the diapers and cigarettes )
I've looked at food. Lunch - I can have meat / cheese / bread / fruit set-up when you break if anybody wants. We'll set that up Sat. AM - I figure for about $5 each, I can have everything there for lunch both days (that's $5 ONCE to eat both days). Oh, and I accept Canadian (since I can use it later).
Dinner Sat. night - I've held a space at 3 places - you decide by Wed., let me know, and I'll cancel 2 of them.
1) Uccello's - Lots of huge TV's, patio if it's nice out, pasta, pizza, burgers, couple vegetarian options.
2) BW3 - claim to fame is hot wings, they are major supporters of local hockey - youth to AHL - so I give them business when possible - lots of TV's, some options besides wings. There are a few locations in town. The closest one has a patio also but is further from the rink than Uccello's.
3) Smokey Bones - Not too many options outside of bbq, plenty of TV's, BIG SELLING POINT .... it is next door to the Super 8 (no cars, no lost people, within stumbling distance to return to your room).
Personally, I like Uccello's best. I believe we can do the transport easily, and it's like 1+ miles from the hotel / rink. Their prices are reasonable, too.
Speak to me people. P/S

GR Clinic
Hello Psofmars,
Glad to be seeing you at this clinic instead of Rochester for once.
I am supposed to fly up with Mitdan but have decided to fly in a little earlier. My flight gets in at 442pm in Grand Rapids and I will need a lift to the Super 8. Mitdan was planning on getting a rental but his flight does not come in until 11pm. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
If anyone else will be around for Dinner Friday night then please feel free to PM, it would be cool to get together the night before if you are already here...
Regarding lunch on Saturday etc.
Is there anything next to the rink or across the street we can walk to when we break? If not then your option sounds great, count me in for $5 anyway. As we have found in years past that even if you don't eat, someone else will and it ($5) was for a good cause.
Also and I know this question has been asked but here it goes again. Mitdan and I are coming from the Great Repubic of Texas. And at the present time the closest hockey shop with any goalie stuff is about 4 hours away. (Dallas) So besides the Perani's are there any other shops with notable goalie content within say 20-30 minutes of the rink?
Flights are booked, Super 8 reserved until Monday the 5th. Will be shipping pads in the next few days.

As for pro-shops, there is Hockey Services in K-Zoo and a different Perani's in Lansing - both 40 min. / 1 hr. away. We have Play It Again, who generally doesn't have much, and I believe I heard about a new place in Holland that is Hockey & Lacrosse, but I'll have to ck. into that. Tragically, it's Tulip Festival in Holland this weekend (& on & on) so going there could be less than enjoyable.
But if you get me Johnny Lang tickets, I'll take you anywhere
If you don't mind waiting a little bit, I can come down 44th and pick you up about 5:30pm or so. I'll see what I can do about sooner.
I was going to see about using the meeting room of the hotel to have a pizza / wings meet-n-greet Fri. night.
There are some places to grab lunch near the rink, but noon on Sat. on 28th St. is a zoo. I promise I shop smarter than the inadvertant shortage at ROC. And I wanted to be sure nothing was too greasy or heavy (no tossing cookies during dryland). But whoever wants to throw in can, and if not, no big.
We have a small-town mind but we're actually a fairly big city, so if you want it, I can probably find it.
BTW - the "club" next to Uccello's is closed "gentlemen"

GR Clinic
Im pretty sure MitDan is renting a car so if he wants to we could drive that distance to K-Zoo. Probably no need since Perani's will probably take us the rest of the day. But thanks for naming the places and distances.
I would really appreciate a lift from the airport. 530pm is fine, take your time. I actually like hanging around airports especially if the "local scenery" is nice.
Going home, I think I can hitch a ride with Mitdan to the airport on Sunday so everything should be ok there.
Uccelo's is ok with me, anyplace that is local to get a taste of GRR is good. Im still in for Lunch as you are planning it on Saturday/Sunday.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
BTW, I am now switching to the "other" board since keek's is over there.
