Thanks for all the interest in my DVD
First of all, thanks for all the interest in my DVD!!! I completely understand that I have to earn my merit on this board before you guys all take my System as the WORD..haha. Give me an honest shot and I am 100% confident that you'll be a believer in my system
I am proud of my ProHybrid Goaltending System. I completely understand the nature to challenge/question the concepts and mechanics. I truly welcome the challenge and hope we can all further our collective understanding of the position through intelligent discussion. A board member mentioned in an earlier thread that there are some technical inconsistencies in the trailer. Can you please elaborate with the specific examples?
I love talking goaltending stuff and welcome anyone to call me at 612.396.0758 or email me at

There are many reasons behind the name: The ProHybrid Goaltending System:
1. My version of the T-push, I call it the Powerstride, is a hybrid of the old school t-push and first step of a player's skating stride. Fully rotating the upper body through the intended angle and Loading body weight to the push side are both keys in this athletic and explosive up movement.
2. I call the "L" or "VH" setup the Hybrid Setup because it is a combination of both the stance and butterfly. I stress the importance of this Hybrid setup in making blocking saves when the puck is within a stick distance on shallow angles plus creating power in butterfly recoveries, pushoffs and butterfly slides.
3. Finally and most importantly:
I take pride in teaching the most efficient mechanics of both movement and save execution. Once my goaltenders learn these mechanics, I show them when to use each technique. This phase is when reading and reacting to the given situation comes into play. An effective goalie combines their physical ability to move and execute saves as well as their knowledge of when to use each technique to ultimately stop the puck. Examples of using my Hybrid approach to goaltending are:
When to block vs when to react...Why?
When to execute a narrow butterfly vs. wide butterfly...Why?
When should a goalie play deep vs. challenging the shooter...Why?
These 3 questions are thoroughly examined in my DVD.
...And for those that like to stand up, I teach my young goalies when there is a long shot and its above the hands, standing up is the easiest way to make the save.
Some bigger and experienced goalies feel more comfortable making saves in the butterfly than standing up no matter where the location of the shot...there is a cool interview of Roberto Luongo on youtube where he brings up the subject.
In closing, I'm extremely grateful that Steve McKichan, a well respected goaltending guru has given a thoughtful endorsement to my goaltending DVD. Please go to ProHybrid Training to check out his quote.
I'm truly looking forward to the positive impact my goaltending system will have on goalies of all ages and ability levels. I'm also confident that we'll all learn more about goaltending by interacting on goaliestore.com.
