The flow part is to work your lower back , shoulders, lats, and overall flexibility.
Also calves and hamstring.
Its only bad the first few times you do it. Once you get stronger it get really easy.

Yeah, I know that by not doing the flowing I'm neglecting some of the purpose of it. I tried to make up for this by doing extra stretches, as well as pushups. I didn't do that because I found it difficult strength-wise (though I probably would have eventually, if I had kept doing the flow stuff ) - I just found it boring and frustrating, it didn't interest me in the slightest.

Its hard to focus when I suck so much at Yoga. Even though I was alone I felt emberrassed, thats how freakin bad I was.

I have no interest in centering my mind and "oohmmmmm"ing, but I do recognise the importance of flexiblity and balance that yoga gives. So I took my own approach to it. After the first half of the downward dog -> runner's pose -> warrior 1/2 routine, I just stopped doing the transitions, the flowing form part of it. It was too boring for me, I just couldn't make myself do that. Instead, I took each individual pose and treated it like a seperate stretch. I didn't flow from one to another, I just did them seperately to feel the stretch. Same for the balance exercises. Can't be bothered doing the "centering my body and mind" stuff, all I want is the flexibility.
The Crane and The Wheel are pretty awesome, those are ones I'll really be working hard at.

It is important not to skip the flow between the moves. This is called the vinyasa sequence. The vinyasa sequence is actually a cardio workout to an extent in that you are constantly moving and transitioning between moves. This will work on your ability to control your heartrate and breathing under stress, which actually does translate well into goaltending as there has been studies to suggest that once a goalie's heart rate reaches a certain point, their decision making processes and save selections become very poor.

So....you're having trouble. Big deal. How do you think you'll get good at yoga?
In yoga they say you 'practice' yoga, because you never master it.

Have to admit I'm struggling a bit at the moment.. it's the nutrition that's really doing it to me. I've been following the nutrition guide exactly, because tbh I have a fair amount of belly fat to get rid of (could do with losing about 2 stone), and I want every last pound of it gone. Before P90X, I ate a lot of carbs - lots of bread, cereals, rice, pasta. Now in Phase 1 I'm only allowed have one carb a day. The last couple of days I've found myself feeling really weak and tired. I haven't been allowing myself to feel starving, as I know that's totally counter-productive - but even when I eat regularly and eat all the protein that the nutrition guide calls for, I feel tired and miserable. I've taken to popping a few caffeine pills throughout the day to make up for this, which probably isn't the healthiest option.
Anyone else have any experiences like this?
I know in the P90X intro it says you can increase your calorie intake if you have an active day-to-day lifestyle, but being a computer programmer, I don't. So I don't want to increase what I'm eating for fear of messing with my weight loss.

This is normal. Middle of phase 2 you will regain your energy. Stick with it.

Cheers for that sloth.
Gonna make some protein bars tonight for use as snacks and see if it helps my energy levels at all.

The stuff works guys, you've got to trust it and just do it the best you can. You will get better.

Well, here I am 40 days or so before training camp starts.
I'm 26 years old, 6'1", 200Lbs. My scale says my BF% is at 25%, but from past testing, I'd say I'm more around 12%. Anyways, I'll see in the coming weeks if the scale was right.
I'll post some before pics tonight and I will take some after shots after the first, second and last phases.
The first phase will be done by the book, only thing being that I"m doing the Lean version of the program.
Once training camp starts I"ll readjust everything with how my energy level maintains, if I feel I can keep on going with the regular routine, I'll keep up, if not I'll take off training on Ice days.
Nutrition I won't be addressing right off since I've been at 195 for most of the summer, so what I"m eating now is keeping me at the same weight, only thing that could happen now is that I'll be able to eat more.
Feel free to ask any questions, I'm doing this for me, but if I can help someone else, I"ll be happy to do it.

What is your most difficult round in Plyo X?
1) Jump squat, run stance squat, airborne heisman (lateral leaping), swing kick
2) Squat reach jump, run stance squat with direction switch, double airborne heisman, circle run
3) Jump knee tuck. jumping lunge, leapfrog squat, twist combo
4) Rock star hop, gap jump, squat jack, military march
5) Run squat with 180 jump, lateral leapfrog, monster truck tire, hot foot
6) Bonus round: pitch & catch, jump shot, football move (60 seconds each)
Mine are # 3 and #5 I think...

I'm getting close to finish week 3. So far I've lost about 7 pounds, gone from a 33 waist to a 31/32 and added one inch to my arms.
