Crossfit Training

Curious if anyone else here crossfit trains?

If you are unsure of what it is, visit Welcome to CrossFit: Forging Elite Fitness

I am also interested if anybody has gone from crossfit training to p90x or vice versa.

I like the idea of p90x, but working out for 1.5 hrs just doesn't do it for me anymore. With crossfit, i can be completely faitgued in 8 mins depending on the workout of the day.

Comments?

Crossfit is okay, although I think it is a bit cult-like. They tend to look at fitness benchmarks and physical prowess achievements as ends in themselves. Followers can be almost masochistic in their zeal (witness the mascot, Pukey the clown).

I have a buddy that is a Cross Fit trainer. I agree with the post above about the cult like attitude...lol. I myself am a trainer and incorporate some of the Cross Fit structure to a program and it as suited me well as a goaltender.

Crossfit and programs like it are geared towards building functional strength, not body building (whicg is what PX90 seems to be about)

Have done P90X in the past...and love it. Got some great results expecially if you are eating properly. But I will say this...nothing compares to crossfit as far as explosiveness, strength, conditioning and mechanics. It is honestly the hardest thing I have ever done. And I am loving every minute of it.

For those of you who haven't trained Crossfit I will describe it as this. Your heart feels as if it is pounding out of your chest, your lungs are burning because they are starving for air, sweat is pouring off your head and your mind is telling you just to collapse and die. But nothing feels better then when it is all done and you look back on what you have accomplished. The guys and gals there are in your face screaming at you...music is pumping, when you think you can't go on you don't just crank out 1 more rep you some how bust out 2-3 more. Is it Cult like...your damn right it is...but that is what drives us to reach fitness goals that no one else can.

If you haven't tried it and you can sum up the courage to go ahead and give it a shot I encourage you too because it will improve all aspects of your life not just your hockey game.

Just my .02
