tracking puck that's behind the net
Hi,
I tryed to do a search for "behind", "puck behind" and the only result I had was Puck behind the net positioning
Unfortunately, the above thread is not what I am looking for.
I am having problems tracking the puck when it's behind the net. I tryed different techniques but I have yet to find one that fits me well. we lost 4-3 yesterday and that last goal was due to the fact that I lost sight of the puck when my play was behind the net. I have no problems when an opponenet is alone behind the net and tryes a wrap around or a pass to the slot. I have problems when there are more than 2 players behind the net. the goal mesh, the black tape, the sticks, the back and forth....blam I loose sight of it and go into panic mode.
Could someone elaborate on a technique there are comfortable with. Or if someone knows about an existing thread on teh subject ?
Thanks

Visual
I decided to add a visual of 2 techniques I use when the puck is behind the net. Critique me and offer some advice if needed.

too much coffee
Note the many typo's in the image due to the ingurgitation of coffee.
in the image "shuddle" means "shuffle"

Maybe not the best method out there but for me, I rely on a quick shuffle and will never have a leg down while the puck is behind the net (too much effort to get up and get depth if the puck ends up in the slot).
I am always right up against one post looking over my shoulder. I try not to move too much. If the puck crosses the center of the net I shuffle over to the other post and watch the puck over my other shoulder.
If there are more people behind the net and it's going back and forth like crazy then so am I, but I'm always focused on the centre of the net and up against one post in order to prevent a wrap around if that might occur after losing track of the puck.

>> I guess that you look over your "outside" shoulder correct ? Meaning that you look over the shoulder that's closer to the post ...right ?

No. I look over the shoulder away from the post.
Which means that quite often, I am on the opposite side of the centre of the net than the puck. But I should be able to see a wrap around coming this way and get over in time to stop it.
It has to be a powerful shuffle, though.
I don't know if this is clearer but in my mind, I can get over to where I can see if I have to and am already over to where I can't see. Meaning that if i lose track of the puck I'm already in position to stop a wrap around.

I think I know what you mean...see pic.
BTW, I can power shuffle post to post so this would work for me... I'll give it a try tonight. And for god sakes I have to stop going on my knees when I loose sight of the puck !!! I'll have to make a habit of staying up and trying to find the puck when I lose sight of it...just like when I'm beeing screened !!!
