Still sore groin something?

Well about last week i worked out my legs on that hip abductor machine. Pretty weird and my legs were hsaking as i pushed in and out. Anyways the next 2 days both my thighs were very sore but then as time went by my left leg the more dominant one didn't hurt as much. right dosen't hurt anymore but for some dumb reason i can't stretch out both my legs unless feeling a little sore pain. I'm just wondering why after week after working out i can't stretch anymore? Also the guns are coming along quite nicely :P

the guns? pfft.. lol

reason why your more dominant leg is more sore cause it was trying to take the load of both legs. hence why it's the dominant one. even if you're pulling the same weight your more dominant leg will do more work, including keeping balance.

Well, I think you overdid it. You said your legs were shaking...

Adductors and abductors are not very large muscles; they usually provide only stabilization and some strength for turning while running. They do not provide a significant amount of power for running or skating. So if you tried to load them with a lot of weight as you might work some other leg muscles, you'd have overdone it. Ouch.

Your right leg was more sore because that muscle was the weaker one.

You can't stretch out like usual because you made your muscles really sore. Did you stretch out before and after your workouts?

So. RICE. Rest, ice, compression, elevation. Elevation might be impractical, but rest, ice, and compression will help. Ibuprofen can help, too.

I am, of course, not a doctor... so Do the Right Thing.

ya i stretched out before and after and flexibility was fine it was the next 2 days when it got sore, it started hurting so i dunno. Sounds weird but also my right leg isn't what it's used to be itsnot as flexible anymore but i think i need time for it to rest

How many reps did you do at how much weight? When I was at school, I was doing 15 150lb reps and 10 170lb reps, for the adductor and abductor both. I never noticed any soreness or anything.

I stopped doing them now because my gym's machine for them sucks and I don't notice a difference not doing them. Once you get back, I'd drop the weight you were doing or skip it all together. Or find a different way to work out those muscles, like a cable crossover machine. But that's just my opinion.

LukePhillips, That's a lot of weight! That's like you lying on your side, me standing on your thigh, and you lifting me up! How much weight do you squat?

Alzz, yep. Rest and gentle stretching will help.

I've never squated, I need to start doing it. I'm pretty sure that's what weight I was doing, could be a little off. I can't picture the machine in my head, it's been a few months. I just always found that machine easy, maybe it's the way that particular one is setup or something.

this is the machine except you take the pads and stick em as far as you want theres 6 levels. I went to 4 and was doing i think around 150 and its not hard you have to squeeze your legs together and out and my legs were just quivering.

heres an even better pic http://www.fabsgym.com/fac/b_building/b_building_12.jpg

I do about 8-10 reps of 250lbs on my gym's adductor machine. Dont forget though Timber that it is not really that much weight. When you add a system of pulleys as most machines have (including the adductor machine) the work needed to lift a certain amount of weight is reduced. Basic physics
