Shoot for one goal....

Its very very very very hard to lose fat and put on muslce mass at the same time. What you should be doing is cutting and then going for bulking.....

try to lose the weight first and then go for the muslce building.

Hey Guys

One food you don't see mentioned is Quinoa. It is a grain from Peru. It has protein, healthy fats, and lots of minerals. It is a great substitute for rice.

You can make salads with it. I even used it to make Jambalaya.

Oatmeal in the morning with trail mix.

I don't really buy this for goaltending training. If you are trying to become a body builder, then it is difficult to add mass and get cut. For sport training, work out hard to lose the fat, and your muscles will respond with more strength and power. You may not be bigger, but for sports, who cares? Do high intensity training with super sets, intervals, and short periods of rest, and you will feel noticably stronger and leaner.

Since I started playing hockey and baseball again, I stopped lifitng weights. While I haven't been "bulking up" as I normally do when I lift weights, I can definitely tell I'm getting stronger and leaner, so I think this is spot-on. If you're working hard during sports, the muscles you need will improve in their own way.

I wouldn't think for a sport where you need to be quick you'd really want to bulk up all that much anyway. When was the last time you saw a beefcake NHL goalie? Let's be honest, the majority of them are skinny little dudes!
