Help scary moment
Well i was attending goalie camp this week from tesday to saturday for gold in the net. Well after lots of hard work saturday was th worst day and the saturday dry land was a big soccer tournament. Well i jumped in the air for the ball in a game and i landed on one foot and feel awkwardly. I couldn't believewhat i saw next. I saw my knee sticking out to the left on my left knee and i was just omfg. I went into shock and i pulled my knee inwards and it popped back into place. Not asure whats that called but my knee has swollen up alot but i iced it and its gone down a bit. I just wanna know is if i should see a doctor or sometimes joints pop out of place. Any feedback is appreciated thanks

Go see a doctor. Don't hesitate.

OK. Don't go to a doctor. We'll diagnose it over the Internet for you.
You messed up your knee. It will get better, or it won't.
How's that?? Better?

It is a dislocated kneecap. One of the most gruesome injuries you could ever get, yet at the same time usually one of the most innocuous. Most of the time the dislocated kneecap just needs time and rest for a complete recovery, but go see a doc and get it looked at anyway.

you'd rather post on a forum then ask a doctor first? I think thats a little funny.

Be careful with a dislocation. I'm not sure if it applies to kneecaps because I dislocated my shoulder and painfully pops out and pops back in on occasion and I haven't seen a doctor either. According to my mother whose a physical therapist she refers to my dislocations as subfluxations but I worry sometimes when I go down to a cover a puck by extending my arm.
Heal up, don't force yourself on the ice with an injury; you're only hurting your team and yourself if you can't play 100%.

Sounds like you just wanted someone to reassure you a goalie forum on the intrawebs was a better medical choice than seeing a schooled professional. Makes sense.

Had a buddy dislocated his kneecap playing baseball and in the process tore it away from the meniscus. Two surgeries and 2 years later he made it back on the ice.
Knees are not to be trifled with, my right will never be the same after a partial MCL tear.
Get it looked at and rest it

I never had this happen to me but I heard it hurts like hell. I suggest you go to the Dr. and stop calling other members dumasses... they are just trying to help

You will note where I did say that you should get it checked by a doctor too right???
While not a smart assed answer, and the others did give a smart assed answer, it is still the same advice. I just provided more detail as to what it probably was.

Wow. You didn't like my first answer (which was not smart assed at all), so now I'm a dumb ass??
Interesting.
While sloth's well-meaning diagnosis might be right on the ball, it might also not be. You may have internal injuries that can not be diagnosed over the internet, and you may need a brace or more. There's absolutely no way anyone can tell you what's wrong with you online.
