Hot Tub Effect

My parents just bought a hottub that ive been bugging them to get for over a year now and i was just wondering if it was ok to use before a hockey game to loosen up the legs and get relaxed? Im not talking about sitting in there for 20 minutes but just putting your legs in for a few minutes.

If you're going to tryouts I certainly wouldn't do it before going. Generally hot tubs will tire you out. Sure if you have a stiff muscle, it will loosen it up, but sitting in that water that is generally anywhere between 103 and 106 for any period of time before playing will drain your energy.

I have been using my hot tub for over a year now to loosen up my muscles before hockey. At my age (38) it has been a godsend. Now some quick things I've learn't. Do not stay in the tub more than 10 minutes. Any longer than that and youi will feel sluggish as mentioned above. Do not try and use the tub after hockey. I wasn't thinking one time and did it only to be so sore the next day i could barely move. It's ice after a game not heat! (I knew this just wasn't thinking that day.)
