I read both your threads, and I have an idea......did you do a search? sorry to be such a stickler, but you won't get the vets upset, and you most likely will find more info then by just asking now

Hey there, Twister. How are ya these days?
Anyways, I realize you're new here, but it's common courtesy to do a search and look through the wealth of information before posting a question such as this, one that has been discussed many times.
Just go in the Search box and type in "shoot" (shooting and passing are the same technique-wise as far as goaltenders are concerned) and look through what you find.
If you've thorougly searched the archives and you can't find the answer to the question you're looking for (although I am positive you will) then, by all means, come back here and post your dilemma to see if anyone can help you out.
Take it easy, and thank you for flying Miller BB.

For your search criteria, if you don't find what you're looking for right away, don't give up. Try "shoot", "shooting", "pass", "passing", "stickhandling", etc.

Here's a picture..... right in this bb
Go to the Hot Stove Forum and on the 2nd page "Rather crappy caption" is a good example of how. Well, one hand on the top of the stick. Try holding it as if you weren't wearing a trapper at all.
good luck, don't think of how to hold it, it's about the shooting and passing.

It's unlikely you would have found that picture with the search

I can't really explain how I do it...and I especially cannot say that there is one right way. There are a few goalies (most notabley Curtis Joseph) who actually do all their stickwork backhanded. I just reccomend practicing different things and find out what works best and feels right for you. If you're sharing a goal with a goalie, I reccomend while they are in net, just taking a puck into the corner and practicing. One thing I find kind of fun and a good way to practice shooting and catching is shoot the puck high off the glass and try to rush forward and catch it. Looks kinda cool too during warmups. Lets the other team know you know what you're doing.

I would not recommend Curtis Joseph's style of switching hands, then doing it backhand.
That, IMHO, is so slack. Here we have a pro [of sorts lately] who refuses to learn anything new that would save his butt maybe. His constant passing with his back to the action has me cringing.
Definitely face the action, know where you are passing, not blindly letting it rip. It'll toast you fer sure if you can't see where you want to put the puck.
Keep practising and good luck.
