Won my championship

Well, during the grueling 8 game season, we never lost. In fact, we won 7 of the 8 games by the 10 goal mercy rule. The one we didn't, we only won by 9. The league was pretty pathetic. Only 4 teams total, including ours. I got 2 shutouts in 7 games in the reg. season (I missed one game due to schedule) and 1 s.o. in our 2 game playoffs. The other playoff game (tonight) I let in 1 goal on a miffed breakaway where the guy screwed it up, but it rolled off his stick and went in 5 hole. My team was 5 16-18 yr kids who were really good. We had 1 40ish adult on the team who didn't play much due to a back injury. Most goals I let in during a game was 4. I think I got about an average of 12-14 shots per game. My team was really dominant. I think you could have put Ray Charles back in our net and we would have won. Nevertheless, I'll take it.

A win is a win, Aaron. Congrats!

Downside to that is that your team was too young to take the trophy to the bar and drink from it, but such is life!

This is a perfect match to my team although this was the case at the recent IISHF European Championships. We are, for all intensive purposes the best Under 19 Ball team in the World and apart from the final I let in 1 or less goals each game letting in 4 in the final (off around 30 shots). You could have stuck someone in net who played on their knees and they would have been just as effective. I think I want to change team, leave my brothers and start ice where I am a relative novice and will struggle, afterall, if you don't reach your potential and ride on the abilities of others, what is there to be proud of?

James

I'd rather lose facing 40+ shots, than win facing fewer than 15 shots...

But that is just me...

With my team, I can face 60 shots one night then the next only 15, but most of the time I face around 40-50 shots.
