Misson Pads at NArch

Just curious if any of you guys have seen these pads before?
Are they just a clone with the mission logos on them?

Here's pics of Rob Frisk and Rob Laurie in Mission gear.....looks like an "original" design to me. But I would quickly defer to anyone who said otherwise.....cause I'm eager to please like that.

I dunno.....I'd be interested in finding out more...all that I could find on the mission site was the pics of the pros wearing them.

I saw a kid wearing them at the rink a couple weeks ago. Just the pads...they seemed very Koho 570ish to me in design, but I didn't get to inspect them up close. I got the impression that he was playing for a Mission-sponsored team...well, considering the company's apparent lack of quality control, I know I would be scared to have to buy that stuff full price...anway, I'll be jumping onto a Mission supported team as well in the coming weeks, so I'll see if I can get some more info.

I'm guessing they're going to start making pads to keep up with Tour, who have (I think) 3 or 4 lines of goalie stuff.

I want all Cordura pads for roller. First of all, I need something lighter and secondly, I hate heavy pads (my *******). Why make a seemingly roller hockey pad out of synthetic leather? I wouldn't if I had the choice (and I've been playing roller for years).

Well, to me, pads made from all cordura look like garbage (opinion). But I will grant you that they are more practical.

I agree. For me they tend to look cheap. I would maybe want cordura for the heavy wear areas but that is about it.

Hey I got some info on these pads.

Basically they are Velocity clones...
they'll be out on shelves next year.
Sent back within a week (just kidding, but Mission is pretty notorious for their quality control on their skates...or lack of). Let's hope these things last huh?

The pads in the top pic are different from the two in the next post. I have seen the top pads first hand from a guy who was in my local league.

They are basically velo clones (shape, etc), except the ones that he was wearing had hard plastic for the inside of the pads. (at the inside of the toe, up to the knee section) He said that sliding side to side is not improved a whole lot, but going bfly is a lot easier.

hope this helps...
