Question Looking for TUUK chassis

Hey guys any of you know where I can track down any TUUK 4 wheel chassis?

The google key yielded no definitive answers and my current ones are reallllly close to the end of their lifespan.

Try to find some Bauer inline-skates from 1997 or 1998. Most of them came with the Tuuk profile frame.

good luck

I have a set of Tuuk chassis. They are the 4 wheel Super Profile Plus chassis. The front and back wheels can be slightly rockered. They do not have wheels or axles.
I'll give them to you for what I paid( $45us).

Actually, I do have some wheels and axles that I can throw in.

miller time,

I've researched this very extensivley. I assume you are looking for the goalie chassis as opposed to the players chasis.

Bauer/ Tuuk no longer produces this particular item and has no plans of resurecting it. The last years of goalie roller blades came with the 5 wheel. If they do release anything this is what it will be. I spoke with Bauer directly and that is what they told me.

Your best luck is to search e bay and all the PIAS around to find a pair of skates with this item. I got a pair from this BB when someone bought new skates. I am very lucky i came across this when I did. the other option is to find older aggresive roller blades with the low profile chasis. Mont uses a silmilar chasis for his custom made skates. I have an easier time finding the agressive chasis than the goalie ones around Cincy. You may wnat to try that.

Good Luck and keep and ear out for any body making a goalie specific chasis. if i hear anything I will post it.

BDD

Well sort of.

I just got an email back from a friend of mine who no longer plays inline and is willing to give up his Bauer 5ks for me to use as parts for mine!!

scweb13 I appreciate the offer; If anyone else wants to make a deal with you a hearby drop my 'first dib' rights.

Just thought of something.

B.D.D., given the difficulty in finding goalie specific chassis what would the chances be of getting the necessary drawings from Bauer in order to have your own chassis machined?

Heck I kinda wonder if you could just take in an existing chassis to a machine shop and have them make you some copies...?...

Seems to me that you should....

You could have your own chassis made but the cost would probably make it prohibitive.

SureGrip has two chassis that, while maybe not intended for goalies, work fine. The H305 and H405 series. I have a pair of H405-5's that are my workhorse goalie skates and they have held up pretty well.

I have been testing a new pair of skates from QuickChange and found them to be very good as well, after I made some mods.

You can also cast around for a Labeda chassis but they are out of production so locating the correct size can be difficult.

Miller,

Vision is right, I am having a hard time to find someone to some simple work making hinges for Jofa helmets , I guy quoted me a price of 25 - 30 buck a pop for a piece of bent sheet metal. I can only imagine what a full chasis would go for.

The idea Mont had of using the aggresive chasis is the best alternative i found, These skates are readily available it is just finding a pair that have not been killed.

No doubt it would be expensive (labor not materials wise)....that is unless one of us goalies happens to work in a machine shop!

(That someone ain't me but c'mon someone on the BB has to )

So I did a little bit of searching, and came up with this: www.emachineshop.com

If I had any time, I'd create or import a chassis, just to see if it's feasable. (My brother has a friend who's a machinist, I'm looking into that too.)

So if anyone else can/will play with the site, let the rest of us know...

I may just give them a whirl to see what kind of price they quote. Shouldn't take me more than an hour to do the CAD work, unless their software really really sucks. Hmmm I think I just found a weekend project.

Thumbs down

Nevermind software sux

Crashes Windows 2k Pro everytime I try to start it.

Also just got off the Labeda site and supposedly they're going to reintroduce the Predator chassis this spring.
