butterfly help

tonight when i was playing hockey i noticed a big problem. when i drop into my butterfly save stance there is a whole below my right knee. im not dropping it fully down. my butterfly use to be the pride of my game but lately i dont know how i am letting in a lot of 5-hole goals. any advice

Sounds like you might have some straps to tight somewhere. Main areas I would check is the top straps and the boot straps.

It could be that your stance isn't quite right - and the top of your knees (or the top of the pads) are too close together. if they are, when you go down, you end up with a little gap under one knee.

That was the problem I had as well, i just widened up stance a little (not very much at all) and that helped. I also found that happens if I'm moving laterally and dropping down, that can happen as well.
