dek

we use a ball. sometimes in tournaments they use a Zball, there is liquid in the ball and it is heavier than a street hockey ball (mylec)

When I play roller I play puck.

Pads

My pads are ice pads, I take the plates off when I play ice. Right now I'm playing a lot of roller so that's why I chose to attach the plates with the ties and not a lace. When I go back to playing both roller and ice I will attach the plates with a lace.

pads

Do you mean the plastic for you pads. My goalie coach got me the plastic. I think you can look in the hardware store for the plastic.

Cool mod moogy.

Did you actually punch holes through your pad material?
How is the wear around that hole after some use?

Wear

I did punch holes into the pads. You just want to make sure that you don't punch any holes where the seam of the stitching is because you will break the tread. I have played a lot of hockey since I have done this mod. Both ice and roller and the holes are holding up fine. they show no wear and are definatly worth putting the plates on so your pads don't get ruined on sport court. My pads look new (other than all the puck marks).

You can get a leather punch at the craft store. Like what people use to make extra holes in leather straps. I'll try to take so close pics of the holes for you tomorrow.

Ippo, thanks. I really like how they came out. Because they are custom I got to design them myself. Scott did a great job.

Ah, didn't know it was a custom design. That's partly what I liked about them.
